Why Advertise On AmateurMovieReviews.com?

If you are looking to promote a movie or movie related site, AmateurMovieReviews.com is as good as it gets. We have only high quality traffic, much of which comes organically, (see detailed traffic stats here), and none of which is driven by advertising.

Why does this matter? With traffic driven by advertising, you can't be sure of the relevance to the subject of movies. For example, let's say we ran an add for "Free Stuff". We would get a lot of traffic, but little of it would be interested in cinema. As an advertiser, you would view our traffic stats and be quite excited, but the value of the ad views to your movie related site would be compromised. With organic traffic, you can take comfort that people viewing your ads are interested in movies, as search engines today generally do a good job of generating relevant search results.

Another reason to advertise on AmateurMovieReviews.com is that we capture traffic that others miss. As a publisher of movie reviews written for real people, by real people, and a bit off the beaten path, people frequently come to our site after searching for information about a particular movie, frequently more obscure, finding our site listed in the search results. Advertisements on AmateurMovieReviews.com thus reaches an audience that is highly interested in movies and that you may otherwise miss, or at least not reach as well as you could.

Finally, advertising on AmateurMovieReviews.com is inexpensive, especially as compared to what you get. Ads on AmateurMovieReviews.com are placed via Google's AdSense, which gives you ultimate and complete control of your costs. As part of setting up the campaign, you are asked to set a maximum amount you are willing to spend per day, and the maximum CPM (cost per thousand ad impressions) you are willing to pay.

OK. How Do I Do It?

Advertisements on AmateurMovieReviews.com are set up in Google's Adsense program. To create a new site-targeted campaign, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your AdWords account at https://adwords.google.com.

2. On the Campaign Summary page, find the table titled "Online Campaigns". Click site-targeted in the 'Create a new campaign' section, which is located at the top of the table.

Follow the sign-up wizard instructions to create your campaign.

Under Target customers by location:

If you are a national or global advertiser, select "Countries and territories", then choose accordingly from the menu. If you are instead a local advertiser, choose either "Regions and cities" or "Customized" to advertise only to customers within your target market.

Next, Adsense will direct you to create your ad text. Following this, you will be directed to the "Target your ad: Identify sites" page. On this page, to get set up, you'll first need to set up to advertise on a site different from AmateurMovieReviews.com, which you'll later be able to delete. Click the "List URLs" button, then enter the following in the box to the right:

movies.about.com

Follow the instructions from there as if completing the process to advertise on movies.about.com. Note that the maximum CPM (cost per thousand ad impressions) you set essentially becomes a bid for presence. The higher you set this, the more your ads will appear.

As you complete this process, you'll be directed to a summary page of the AdGroup you have set up. You should see "Sites" under the "Ad Network" column. Click the "Edit" link to the right of this.

You should be directed to the "Edit Sites and CPM" page. Here, add "amateurmoviereviews.com". You can also delete "movies.about.com", if you wish. Click "Save Changes". That's it! Welcome to our advertising network.

Additional Notes: For advertisers using banners, our ads are 200 x 200. You can view sample ads on this page. Note the ads in the right column, with the "Ads by Google" graphic. These are how your ads will appear, except, of course, on various pages around AmateurMovieReviews.com.
